About The Position

Montclair State University is seeking a full-time Parking Enforcement officer to work overnight shifts. This role involves touring parking facilities, checking elevators, assisting patrons, and reporting on facility conditions and parking census. The officer will use handheld computers to enter and retrieve vehicle information, identify parking violations, and take enforcement action. This position requires a valid driver's license and a clean motor vehicle report.

Requirements

• Prefer high school diploma or equivalent.
• Experienced with Microsoft Windows PCs and related applications (Word / Excel / Access / Outlook)
• Comfortable with devices running both Android and Apple Operating Systems
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Valid Driver's license required
• Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)

Responsibilities

• Touring the parking facilities for the purpose of inspecting and noting unusual conditions
• Checking facility elevators for proper functioning
• Providing relief for fellow facility attendants and enforcers
• Assisting patrons getting in and out of facilities during peak traffic periods on campus.
• Providing written reports of facility conditions, parking census and other activities the university deems necessary.
• Enter and retrieve information pertaining to vehicle registration, identification, and status, using handheld computers
• Identify vehicles in violation of parking codes, checking with clerical staff when necessary to confirm identities or to determine whether vehicles need to be booted or towed.
• Locate lost, stolen, and counterfeit parking permits, and take necessary enforcement action.
• Notify supervisor of handheld issues or concerns
