About The Position

Enforces parking regulations for the Town of Greenwich. Patrols on foot or in a Town vehicle an assigned route of several blocks of parking meters, observing for parking meter violations and issuing tickets. Identifies and reports the locations of malfunctioning parking meters as well as parking signage in need of repair or to be cleared of overgrown shrubbery. Enforces parking permit requirements at various Town parking lots. Takes appropriate action when scofflaw vehicles are identified. Provides customer service to public. Supports Town policies and philosophies. Performs other related work as required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Two (2) years of experience related to enforcement of regulations and providing customer service.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn the geography of the Town and locations of private and public parking facilities.
  • Proven ability to enforce municipal procedures and regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate, both in writing and verbally.
  • Proven ability to operate an automobile safely and according to traffic laws and rules.
  • Proven ability to deal tactfully and courteously with the public including when dealing with complaints.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare and maintain accurate records.
  • Demonstrated ability to patrol several blocks of area on foot under adverse weather conditions.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and operate hand-held parking enforcement computer devices, and other industry-specific technology.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
