About The Position

The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure (DOTI) is seeking full-time Parking Enforcement Agents. This role involves enforcing parking regulations, issuing citations for violations, and administering vehicle towing for the City. Agents will also provide parking enforcement for special events. The position requires individuals who are dedicated, detail-oriented, excel in customer service, and enjoy working in a dynamic, outdoor environment. This role makes a tangible impact on the community by helping to keep the city safe, accessible, and efficient.

Requirements

• Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate.
• One (1) year of public contact experience providing information and relating rules, codes, regulations, and procedures.
• Valid Driver's License at the time of application.
• Must obtain a Code Enforcement Commission Certification from the Executive Director of Safety's Office.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and deescalate tense situations.
• Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
• Must have valid work authorization that does not require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the U.S.

Nice To Haves

• Outstanding communication skills and attention to detail.
• Prior experience in security, law enforcement, or code enforcement.
• Ability to be an ambassador for the City and County of Denver while carrying out right of way enforcement duties.

Responsibilities

• Issue citations for on-street, off-street, and private property parking violations.
• Administer vehicle towing for the City.
• Provide parking enforcement for sporting and other special events.
• Act as an ambassador for the City of Denver to visitors and citizens.
• Enforce compliance with parking regulations through the issuance of citations for violations of the revised municipal code, and other laws, rules, and regulations governing parking.
• Walk 10-15 miles per day and/or operate a City Vehicle in all weather conditions and issue parking tickets.
• Deal with the public and remain courteous and calm while providing great customer service.
