About The Position

As a Park Resource Ranger with the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, you will help care for unique river island campsites. Requirements

Possession of an active motor vehicle license
Obtain a valid certification in standard first aid and adult, child, and infant CPR approved by the American Red Cross, American Heart Association, or equivalent within 60 days of employment
Meet the PA residency requirement
Be able to perform essential job functions
Pass a background investigation
Satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance

Responsibilities

Maintain river island campsites, infrastructure, and boating equipment
Use Geographic Information System and Global Positioning System tools to document island conditions and natural features
Meet with recreationists to provide information, answer questions, and issue permits
Patrol forest lands, inspect facilities, and report issues to managers or rangers
Assist with search and rescue efforts, as well as administer first aid and CPR
Support fire suppression, prescribed burns, and fire prevention activities
