About The Position

The Park Resource Ranger position with the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, Yellow Creek State Park offers an active role in keeping park visitors safe and informed. This job gives you the chance to work outdoors while supporting the enjoyment of natural spaces. You will help guide guests, share information and look out for conditions that may affect safety. This opportunity is perfect for individuals who enjoy working with people and protecting park resources. This position supports park safety, visitor education and resource protection across all areas of Yellow Creek State Park.

Requirements

  • Possession of an active motor vehicle license
  • Ability to obtain valid certification in standard first aid and adult, child, and infant CPR approved by the American Red Cross, American Heart Association, or equivalent within 60 days of employment
  • Meet the PA residency requirement
  • Ability to perform essential job functions
  • Pass a background investigation
  • Satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance

Responsibilities

  • Guide visitors
  • Monitor conditions
  • Respond to emergencies as needed
  • Share rules, recreation details and park history with guests
  • Check buildings, facilities, and grounds for security and safety concerns
  • Care for rescue tools, first aid kits, and assigned work areas
  • Help issue permits, take revenue, and handle reservations when scheduled
