About The Position
Santee Lakes is looking for a dedicated, skilled, and motivated individual to join their team supporting Park and Recreation Coordinators (PRC). This role is ideal for someone who loves working outdoors, is passionate about serving their community, and thrives on delivering exceptional customer service. The Santee Lakes Recreation Preserve is a 190-acre preserve in East County, San Diego, operating 365 days a year with a campground, seven lakes, 300 campsites, 10 cabins, and scenic walking trails. Founded in 1961, Santee Lakes has a long history of serving families and creating memories in an outdoor setting. This position is for a passionate leader who believes in the power of parks in our community.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in recreation administration, park management, business administration, leisure services or related field; OR Five (5) years’ experience in the field of recreation, park management, community service, leisure services, travel and tourism or customer service.
- An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the position may be considered.
- Valid California Driver’s License at time of hire.
- Qualified Applicator Certification (QAC) from the State of California (within one year of hire).
- C.P.R. and First Aid certificate (within six months of hire).

Responsibilities
- Leads a team of Park and Recreation Coordinators (PRC) in the day-to-day operations of Santee Lakes.
- Maintains the standards and expectations of the park and campground.
- Plays a significant role in the planning and execution of facilities improvements.
- Oversees camper recreation and community events.
- Supports and maintains the preserve, wildlife, and lake system at Santee Lakes.
