About The Position

Park Rangers are responsible for the operations and maintenance of Central Winds Park, Trotwood Park, and other City facilities/parks. Park Rangers conduct public tours, ensure the safety of guests, and help keep our parks looking beautiful. Our Rangers love spending time outdoors and don’t mind getting their hands dirty!

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent certificate
One (1) year professional experience in a customer service environment
Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays
Must be able to lift/carry 50+ lbs

Nice To Haves

Florida State Park Ranger Academy Certification preferred

Responsibilities

Patrol park grounds, enforce ordinances, verify permits, monitor hazardous conditions, and report suspicious activity to the appropriate agencies.
Answer visitor requests, needs and complaints.
Responsible for cleaning, monitoring, constructing, and maintaining areas throughout the grounds.
Environmental management, debris cleanup, and aesthetic landscaping.
Provide the public with information about upcoming events and programs using bulletin boards, signage, and displays.
Educate visitors on the natural environment, pollution, and resource protection.
During special events and holidays, help provide traffic control, area maintenance, and open/close the park.
Ensure that rules are followed by youth sports activities during park hours.
May provide basic first aid services.
