Rocky Mountain Youth Corps (RMYC) is seeking a Park Ranger Individual Placement to work with the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) at the Grants Field Station/El Malpais Ranger Station. This position is part of RMYC's program to provide meaningful job experience for young professionals. The role involves assisting BLM staff with recreation and visitor services, youth programs, and interpretation, contributing to the stewardship of approximately 860,000 acres of public lands. Responsibilities include trail maintenance, kiosk development, route designations, recreation area management plan development, grant writing, budget submission, and assisting with various BLM programs like wildlife, range, and forestry. Administrative duties involve data collection, report writing, and communication with BLM and RMYC staff. This position aims to facilitate professional development, expose individuals to land management agencies, and encourage networking. The role is managed by RMYC, with regular check-ins and life skills training, and offers opportunities for cross-training. As an AmeriCorps member, the individual will not serve in any supervising or staff roles.
