About The Position

Supervises, organizes, and coordinates the maintenance and daily operations of park facilities and park properties. Also supervises, organizes, and coordinates a capital project program to replace and/or enhance park facilities and properties.

Requirements

• Completion of a college degree in landscape architecture, park administration, or a related field
• Registered as a Landscape Architect, or ability to obtain registration within one year of employment
• Three to five years park maintenance or park development experience
• Valid Current Commercial Driver's License
• Knowledge of the methods and practices of park maintenance and development
• Ability to supervise the work of others
• Ability to maintain accurate records
• Ability to communicate effectively with others
• Ability to administer capital projects, including budget and construction activities

Nice To Haves

• Ability to obtain Landscape Architect registration within one year of employment

Responsibilities

• Supervise, organize, and schedule activities performed in park property and facilities to ensure that approved desired level of services are provided
• Supervise the planning, design, and quality control of landscape and construction projects for parks and recreation facilities
• Assist in the development and monitoring of operating and capital budgets
• Estimate costs and prepare specifications for equipment and supplies
• Select, train, supervise, and evaluate subordinate employees
• Communicate with citizens to receive input and requests, and resolve customer complaints
• Prepare feasibility studies and other reports
• Perform related duties as directed
