About The Position

Multiple positions are available including campground attendant, beach attendant, and campground office roles. Responsibilities may include campground registration, overseeing daily operations and maintenance of North Beach and the Campground, beach maintenance and rule enforcement, and maintaining restroom facilities throughout the park. Daily tasks involve landscaping, maintenance, trash removal, facility cleaning, parking cars, beach clearing, making camping reservations using Firefly campground software, wrapping and splitting firewood, and traveling to other beaches and water access points to clean, observe, and potentially close beaches due to Cyanobacteria. This position requires excellent customer service skills and a willingness to engage with campground and beach users in a helpful manner. Ideal for self-motivated, hardworking individuals seeking an outdoor summer job. Some weekend and evening shifts are required. French speakers are preferred.

Requirements

• Must be 16 years old or older.
• Must have a driver's license and be able to pass a motor vehicle check.
• Ability to be covered under the City’s vehicle insurance policy prior to operation of any City vehicles or non-City vehicles for City business.
• Ability to work weekends & holidays.
• Ability to work outside in all weather.
• Must be first aid certified or able to become first aid certified before work begins.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to learn new skills.
• Ability to learn about and spot Cyanobacteria.
• Ability to field questions about water quality based on BPRW’s water testing.
• Ability to have fun at work.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations and maintenance of North Beach and the Campground.
• Perform beach maintenance and enforce rules.
• Maintain restroom facilities throughout the park.
• Perform landscaping, general maintenance, and trash removal.
• Clean facilities.
• Park cars.
• Clear beaches.
• Make camping reservations using Firefly campground software.
• Wrap and split firewood.
• Travel to other beaches and water access points to clean and observe.
• Close beaches due to Cyanobacteria when necessary.
• Enforce and observe park and City rules.
• Answer phones and field customer questions.
• Assist campers with their sites.
• Assist beach customers as needed.
• Empty trash and recycling barrels.
• Handle small first aid duties.

Benefits

• Pay Grade: $19.14 - $22.17 Hourly
