About The Position

Lutheran Family Services Rocky Mountains is a nonprofit, human services agency dedicated to supporting children and families across the Rocky Mountain region. The Family Support and Education Program provides safe, child-centered services that foster healthy family relationships and child well-being. Services include supervised family time, safe exchanges, and evidence-based parenting education, offered both in-person and virtually, to prioritize safety, emotional health, and positive parent-child connections. The program operates under the belief that every family has strengths and every child deserves a safe, nurturing environment, working to prevent family violence and support families through education, supervision, and community collaboration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be able to fluently speak, read, translate and write in English.
  • Must maintain a valid driver's license and carry personal auto liability insurance at the level of $100,000/300,000/100,000.
  • Familiarity with or the ability to learn social work practice, human development, family systems, including appropriate local, state, and federal regulatory rules.
  • Experience with keeping organized, complete, and accurate files, including regular auditing to ensure compliance.
  • Skills and sensitivity in working with individuals from a variety of cultural and ethnic backgrounds with a variety of challenges.
  • Familiarity with identifying the learning struggles and successes of students.
  • Select teaching and learning strategies that support students' individual learning needs and goals.
  • Knowledge to observe rules establishing the nondisclosure of information except to another authorized person.
  • Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting.
  • Talking to others to convey information effectively.
  • Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
  • Actively looking for ways to help people.
  • Being aware of others' reactions and understanding why they react as they do.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct, strengths-based parenting education to families, delivering evidence-based curriculum in a supportive and community-centered learning environment.
  • Supports parents in building skills that promote safe, healthy, and nurturing relationships with their children.
  • Ensures services align with the agency's mission, quality standards, and community needs.
  • Collaborates with community partners, maintains accurate program documentation, and contributes to prevention efforts by empowering families through education, connection, and support.
  • Provides direct teaching services following all PES approved curriculum.
  • Stays abreast of evolving practices and community needs in parent education and family services and general outreach related to prevention services.
  • Ensures that program services are provided in accordance with quality assurance standards of the agency, county(s), state, accrediting organizations, and HIPAA.
  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with community partners, referring agencies, funding organizations, local school district personnel and external constituency or consultants.
  • Attends community or agency meetings and participates in other community outreach functions.
  • Collects client demographic information, program service statistics and case records for reporting purposes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
