About The Position

EAC Network, a leading not-for-profit social service agency, is seeking a dedicated Parent Educator to join their Long Island Parenting Institute (LIPI), Alternatives for Youth (AFY), and Home Based Intensive/Community Programs. This part-time role focuses on supporting families and the community through parent education and engagement.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in human, social sciences or similar field required.
Two years of experience in Human Services or working with parents and children, including experience with families in crisis.
Good communication skills, both oral and written.
Ability to work cooperatively with Department of Social Services and other professionals interfacing with program clients.
Proficient in computer applications or other automated systems such as spreadsheets, Microsoft Office applications, calendar, email and/or database software.
Access to and utilization of personal computer, cell phone, and transportation to perform job duties.

Nice To Haves

Master’s degree in human or social sciences preferred.
Bilingual Spanish Speaking Preferred.

Responsibilities

Meet with parents individually and conduct parent education classes and support groups.
Represent EAC Network at community events.
Provide training to parents virtually and in-person for children of all ages, following approved program curricula.
Maintain progress notes and provide regular contact and updates with clients and supervisors.
Send correspondence to confirm client participation.
Communicate with DSS and courts to report on client progress.
Conduct parenting sessions virtually and within the community.
Work evenings and weekends as required.
Perform all other relevant duties as determined by Supervision and EAC NETWORK Administration.
