About The Position

Williamson Elementary School in Rancho Cordova, a Community School, serves approximately 500 Title I students from preschool through fifth grade. Our students and families represent many cultures and speak a variety of languages. Our collaborative staff is friendly, kind, and welcoming. The parent coordinator position manages community outreach through maintaining our school website, ParentSquare, marquee postings, phone calls, and in person events. They work closely with our Community Schools Facilitator to provide seamless support for families, and manages, engages with, and recruits parent and community volunteers. The parent coordinator position is forward facing in our school office and works collaboratively with our School Clerks, Administrative Assistant, and Health Clerk, as well as our Site Administrators. The position is 2 hours each school day, from 1:30pm-3:30pm. Hours can be flexed when supporting school events outside of school hours. Requirements

  • Equivalent to the completion of one year of college. (Responsible experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.)
  • A minimum of two years as a volunteer or paid teacher aide.
  • Direct involvement in the local community programs.
  • DOJ and FBI Criminal Background Check
  • TB Test within the last 60 days
  • Complete district Mandated Reporter training, Sexual Harassment, etc.
  • 30 WPM Typing Certificate (online tests are not acceptable)

Responsibilities

  • Manages community outreach through maintaining our school website, ParentSquare, marquee postings, phone calls, and in person events.
  • Works closely with our Community Schools Facilitator to provide seamless support for families.
  • Manages, engages with, and recruits parent and community volunteers.
  • Coordinate the recruitment, placement, and functions of parent and community volunteers.
  • Act in a public relations capacity.
  • Perform delegated clerical and liaison responsibilities of the program.
  • Do related work as required.
