About The Position

Transit Team, Inc., part of Beacon Mobility, is seeking a skilled Mechanic to perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on school buses. The role involves completing preventive maintenance inspections, troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and diesel systems, and ensuring all repairs meet DOT and safety standards. This position offers steady hours, great pay, and meaningful work, contributing to the safe transportation of students and community members.

Requirements

  • Experience working on medium-duty diesel vehicles or buses
  • Ability to work independently and stay organized
  • Strong commitment to safety and quality work
  • Valid driver’s license

Nice To Haves

  • CDL preferred (or willingness to obtain)
  • Experience with Ford, GM, or fleet vehicles
  • ASE certifications
  • Previous school bus or transit fleet experience

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on school buses
  • Complete preventive maintenance inspections to keep our fleet safe and road-ready
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and diesel systems
  • Ensure all repairs meet DOT and safety standards
  • Work independently while staying connected with the team
