About The Position

Under the supervision of the Transportation Manager, the Paratransit Driver safely and promptly transports PACE participants. Transportation includes ambulatory and wheelchair-bound participants, durable medical equipment, pharmacy items, and other needs as assigned. The driver is responsible for the daily cleanliness and safety of the assigned vehicle and must communicate safety issues to the Transportation Manager.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• North Carolina driver’s license.
• BLS certification.
• First Aid certification.
• At least one year of experience working with and/or transporting frail and elderly people.

Nice To Haves

• Class B CDL with P Endorsement.
• Experience as a bus driver for schools or at-risk populations.

Responsibilities

• Safely and timely transport PACE participants, including ambulatory and wheelchair-bound participants.
• Transport durable medical equipment, pharmacy items, and other items or people as needed.
• Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the assigned vehicle each day.
• Communicate safety issues to the Transportation Manager.
