About The Position
Paraprofessionals may be assigned to a small group of students within a general classroom or work individually with a student. Skills being worked on may be academic in nature, such as assisting students with a Science Lab, editing an essay, or solving math problems. Functional skill development may include social skills, hygiene, safety, and behavior management. A paraprofessional may occasionally be reassigned depending on absences for that day. The school day starts at 8:25 am and ends at 3:10 pm.
Requirements
- Ability to work 6.75 hours/day, Monday - Friday, 33.75 hours/week.
- Availability to work 192 days/year.
- Understanding of academic skill development.
- Understanding of functional skill development (social skills, hygiene, safety, behavior management).
Responsibilities
- Assist students with academic tasks such as Science Labs, essay editing, and math problems.
- Support functional skill development including social skills, hygiene, safety, and behavior management.
- Work with a small group of students within a general classroom or individually with a student.
- Be occasionally reassigned depending on daily absences.
