About The Position

Paraprofessional plays a vital role in supporting the academic, behavioral, medical, and social-emotional growth of students with diverse and intensive learning needs. Working under the guidance of licensed professionals, this position provides direct instructional, behavioral, and health-related support in classroom and community settings.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and two years of specialized training or an associate's degree in ECE or related field.
  • CDA or the Early Childhood Professional Level II credential through the State of Colorado’s Professional Development Information System (PDIS), or plan to obtain within one year of hire.
  • Must obtain First Aid CPR, and medication administration certification within 90 days of employment and maintain as required.
  • Must be able to lift/carry/manipulate up to 40 pounds.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment physical examination, TB test, drug test (including marijuana), and background check in accordance with the Office of Head Start Performance Standards and Childcare Licensing.
  • Must have access to reliable transportation and if using a personal vehicle must maintain minimum liability insurance as determined by the State of Colorado.

  • Bachelor’s degree in behavioral science
  • 0–2 years working with children with special needs.
  • Bilingual: English/Spanish
