About The Position

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our team as Paraprofessionals at Reed City Middle School for the 2026-2027 school year. This part-time position offers an opportunity to support students' educational experiences by working closely with teachers and assisting in various classroom activities. The ideal candidates will demonstrate a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment and will play a vital role in enhancing student engagement and success.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in education or a related field is preferred.
• Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting is highly desirable.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with students, staff, and parents.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and take direction from teachers.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting student learning and development.
• Basic proficiency in technology and willingness to learn new educational tools and software.
• Must be able to pass a background check and meet any other state or local requirements for employment in a school setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in the implementation of instructional plans and classroom activities.
• Provide one-on-one support to students with special needs or learning challenges.
• Monitor and manage student behavior to ensure a safe and productive classroom environment.
• Help prepare instructional materials and resources for lessons.
• Assist with the assessment and documentation of student progress.
• Support students during transitions between classes and during lunch or recess.
• Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other staff members regarding student needs and progress.
• Participate in professional development and training as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervising teacher or school administration.
