About The Position

Propel Schools is seeking a Paraprofessional to join our Special Education Department at Propel Hazelwood School. This role is crucial in providing academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support to scholars. The Paraprofessional will work with scholars in various group settings and individually, both within the regular classroom and through pull-out sessions. Key duties include assisting teachers with curriculum materials, collecting and reporting student data, and reinforcing school-wide academic and behavioral expectations. This position is part of the Special Education Team and contributes to Propel's mission of transforming public education to ensure all children have access to high-performing schools.

Requirements

  • An Associate Degree or at least 48 college credits or completion of the ParaPro Test in lieu of college credits
  • Education related Field or Work Experience
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a non-traditional, Urban education environment

Responsibilities

  • Provide academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support to scholars.
  • Support scholars in large and small groups and/or provide individualized academic and behavior reinforcement.
  • Assist teachers in preparing curriculum materials.
  • Collect and report student data.
  • Ensure students follow school-wide academic and behavioral expectations.
  • Work as part of the Special Education Team.
