About The Position

Make a difference every day by joining CCRES as a Paraprofessional through our partnership with Unionville-Chadds Ford School District (UCFSD)! CCRES is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization of dedicated and highly-trained staff members who provide quality services to schools, children, adults, and families. We work collaboratively with school districts, intermediate units, and the behavioral health system. The Special Education Paraprofessional pay rate to work on assignment in UCFSD is $18.36 per hour with 5 days of paid time off (PTO) each year. The Special Education Paraprofessional will work on all student days during the school calendar year, 6.5 paid hours per day on full school days (with 1/2 hr unpaid lunch break). Special Education Paraprofessionals will support students in one of the following areas: Autistic, Emotional, Instructional, Learning, and Life Skills Support.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required.
  • For Title I positions - Must pass for "highly qualified" as mandated by NCLB

Nice To Haves

  • Associates or Bachelors Degree - preferred
  • Prior public-school experience and/or working with school-aged children in a licensed, certified, or registered provider setting - preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide instructional, behavioral, and/or physical support to individual students or small groups, including on-task prompting, social skills development, and self-care assistance.
  • Support students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 Plans by implementing accommodations and strategies as directed.
  • Reinforce learning concepts, classroom instruction, and skill development to help students achieve their educational goals.
  • Work one-on-one or in small groups to provide targeted academic and behavioral support.
  • Assist students in developing organizational, communication, problem-solving, and independent living skills.
  • Guide students through classroom activities, monitor participation and progress, and provide feedback to instructional staff.
  • Promote positive student behavior and help maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, specialists, and school administrators to support student success.
  • Supervise students during lunch, recess, arrival/dismissal, transitions, and other non-instructional school activities.
  • Foster positive relationships with students while encouraging independence, confidence, and social-emotional growth.
