About The Position

Paraprofessionals will provide services during the school calendar year and will follow the school calendar for days off, holidays, etc. Summers are off; ESY may be available but is not guaranteed. A Paraprofessional's functions are to increase the quality of education by assisting students with instructional and non-instructional activities. Paraprofessionals are not responsible for the design, direction, or evaluation of the teaching/learning process. Because the Paraprofessional is assisting students, regular attendance is required to fulfill the duties of this position. A Paraprofessional may be used in any instructional situation under the direct, immediate supervision of a certified professional to perform those tasks specified in the job description. The role of the assistant varies according to the program assignment.

Requirements

• High school diploma is required.
• Must be comfortable using a computer.
• Current clearances (within 6 months).

Nice To Haves

• An Associate’s degree or higher is highly preferred.
• A minimum of one year of recent experience working as a Paraprofessional with children in a school setting is highly preferred.
• Experience working with children with behavioral challenges and assisting with daily living skills is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with instructional and non-instructional activities.
• Provide services during the school calendar year.
• Complete clinical documentation to school district standards.
