About The Position

South Canton Scholars Charter Academy is seeking a part-time Paraprofessional for a schedule of 30 hours per week. The school is located in Canton, Michigan, serves students in Young 5 through grade 8, and opened in 2011. The role provides instructional assistance to students who need academic intervention and supports their academic, moral, and social development.

Requirements

• Must meet state requirements for being a Title 1 paraprofessional.
• Knowledge of and ability to assist in teaching reading, writing, and/or mathematics.
• Understanding of and ability to navigate technical systems.

Responsibilities

• Assess student abilities and provide instructional assistance to students needing academic intervention through one-to-one or group workshops, as directed by the classroom teacher and designated instructional leader.
• Commit to educating the whole student academically, morally, and socially.
• Implement a results-driven curriculum to achieve significant growth from fall to spring testing.
• Attend professional development and articulation meetings with classroom teachers and parents as required.
