About The Position

Mora Elementary School is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Paraprofessional. This long term sub position involves supporting teachers and students in a dynamic educational environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to fostering a positive learning atmosphere and will work collaboratively with educators to enhance student success.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and staff.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to support student learning and development.
Basic understanding of child development and classroom management techniques.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience as a paraprofessional or teacher's aide.
Experience working with students with special needs.
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in education or a related field.
First Aid and CPR certification.

Responsibilities

Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans and instructional activities.
Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with varying needs, including those with disabilities.
Monitor student progress and behavior, providing feedback to teachers as necessary.
Help create a safe and engaging classroom environment conducive to learning.
Assist with classroom management and supervision during activities, including recess and lunch.
Prepare instructional materials and resources as directed by the teacher.
Support students in developing social and emotional skills.
Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to foster a supportive learning community.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervising teacher or school administration.
