About The Position

State Street Academy is hiring a full time high school Paraprofessional to join the team. State Street Academy is a K-11 charter school located in Bay City, Michigan. Our mission is to encourage students to do their personal best by offering education in a safe and caring environment. The curriculum prepares students to solve problems both individually and collaboratively, using critical thinking skills and cultivated through comparative, interdisciplinary study. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Paraprofessional to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist teachers in providing support to students, helping to create a positive and productive learning environment. This role is essential in fostering academic growth and ensuring that all students have the resources they need to succeed.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree or bachelor's degree in education or related field preferred.
Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting is highly desirable.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping students succeed.
Bachelor's degree in Education
Michigan teaching certification with endorsement in subject
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of state standards and curriculum requirements
Passion for teaching and a commitment to student success.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

Assist teachers with the preparation and implementation of instructional materials, resources, and classroom activities.
Provide instructional assistance under the supervision of the classroom Teacher.
Provide one-on-one and small group support to students in various subjects.
Support students with special needs and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) under the direction of the classroom Teacher.
Help with classroom management and maintain a positive learning environment.
Monitor student progress and behavior, providing feedback to teachers and other educational staff.
Supervise students during non-instructional times (e.g., recess, lunch).
Communicate effectively with teachers, students, and parents regarding student progress and needs.
Maintain confidentiality of student records and other sensitive information.
Assist in the preparation and delivery of instructional plans.
Support student assessment
