Under immediate to general supervision, the Paraprofessional provides peer support services and may serve as a patient/client/consumer advocate. This role involves providing consumer information and peer support in emergency, outpatient, or inpatient settings. The Paraprofessional performs a wide range of tasks to assist consumers in regaining control over their own recovery processes and functions as a role model of competency in recovery and ongoing coping skills. The position requires demonstrating knowledge of the clinical/service needs of all populations and skill in providing age-specific care.
