About The Position
The Hope Learning Center is seeking a dedicated Paraprofessional to join their Mars school-based team. This role involves working alongside teachers and therapists across their expansive campus to provide direct support to students with special needs, helping them succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. The unique setting of a 30-acre wooded campus provides a calm, nature-rich environment that supports student well-being.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree (required)
- Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance
- Act 34 State Criminal History Clearance
- Act 114 FBI Clearance (DOE)
- Act 168 Clearance
- Mandated Reporter Training
- CPR/First Aid Certification
- Recent Physical/TB Test
Nice To Haves
- Prior work with children or individuals with special needs
- A love of the outdoors is a plus!
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one and small group support with classwork, tests, and activities
- Reinforce learning concepts under teacher or therapist supervision
- Support students in following IEP and behavior plans, including ABA strategies
- Supervise students across our campus, including classrooms, outdoor spaces, nature trails, and on field trips
- Assist students with personal needs such as mobility, toileting, and self-care
- Foster a safe and respectful learning environment while maintaining professional relationships with staff and students
- Maintain clean, organized work areas and outdoor learning spaces
- Perform other duties as assigned by the director to support student success
