About The Position

Make a difference every day by joining CCRES as a Paraprofessional through our partnership with Capital Area Intermediate Unit (CAIU)! This role offers paid credentials, eliminating upfront costs for necessary clearances & TB screening. The pay rate for the 2026-2027 school year is $24.00/hour. This position provides 5 days of Paid Time Off (prorated based on hire date) and follows the academic calendar year for student days. Special Education Paraprofessionals may support students in one of the following areas: Autistic, Emotional, and Life Skills Supports. Current openings are available at East Penn High School, Middletown Area High School, Middle Paxton Elementary School, and Newberry Elementary School. Schedules are full school days, with potential minor adjustments based on student schedules, and include paid lunch breaks.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required.
  • For Title I positions - Must pass for "highly qualified" as mandated by NCLB
  • PA Child Abuse (Act 151) Clearance
  • PA Criminal (Act 34) Clearance
  • PA Department of Education FBI – Use code 1KG6XN
  • TB Screening - current within 3 months
  • Education Documentation - Diploma OR Official Transcripts

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years post secondary, Associate's Degree or higher - preferred
  • Prior public-school experience and/or working with school-aged children in a licensed, certified, or registered provider setting - preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide instructional, behavioral, and/or physical assistance to an individual student or a small group of students - including, but not limited to: on-task prompting, facilitating social skills, and self-care skills
  • Work with students on organizational skills, guide students in activities, monitor student progress
  • Directly support students at the direction of classroom teacher and building Principal
