About The Position

The Paraprofessional works as a staff member of the Education Department team. Primarily responsible for implementing and adhering to the principles of the Positive Organizational Culture and providing instructional services to students. The Paraprofessional reports to the Educational Resource Coordinator and/or the Principal and Assistant Principal.

Requirements

Empathetic, patient, and treat others with respect
Related experience working with at-risk youth
Knowledge of instructional strategies and how they can be employed to deliver curriculum and assess student learning
Knowledge of various methodologies and research related to learning and working with at-risk, high-school youth
Knowledge of effective classroom management techniques and behavioral management styles that result in understanding of how to manage and teach to various learning styles
Knowledge of effective communication techniques that enable positive and productive collaboration with other site staff
Knowledge of technology and how it is utilized as an educational tool
Demonstrated ability to establish a teaching rapport with students which results in student achievement in all program areas
Ability to pass a criminal background check, drug screen, physical, and TB test

Responsibilities

Implementing and adhering to the principles of the Positive Organizational Culture
Providing instructional services to students
Collaborating with staff to assist in the delivery of curriculum
Implementing a team approach to working with students
Learning and utilizing computers in the overall function of performing required teaching duties
Accepting additional tasks as assigned including flexible work schedule and extracurricular assignments
