About The Position

Hope Learning Academy is hiring a full-time Paraprofessional in Springfield, Illinois. The role supports students in a classroom setting by providing instruction and assistance aligned with their Individual Education Plan (IEP) goals and objectives, encouraging independence, implementing educational programs, and helping maintain a stimulating, accepting, and safe learning environment. The position also includes appropriate student data tracking and entry. Hope can provide required testing for applicants who are not certified. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The hourly rate is $17.15–$18.80.

Requirements

Be at least 19 years of age.
Have a high school diploma or equivalent education.
Hold or attain an Illinois Paraprofessional license.
Have a valid Illinois driver’s license.
Successfully complete background clearance, a physical, an agility test, and drug/alcohol screening.
Be able to lift, push, pull, and carry 50 pounds.
Be able to stand, walk, grasp, reach, stoop, crouch, crawl, and run.

Nice To Haves

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in an education- or human-services-related field.
Experience working with people with developmental disabilities.
Experience in a classroom setting.

Responsibilities

Support students in a classroom setting at Hope Learning Academy and complete appropriate data tracking and entry.
Provide instruction and assistance that meets students’ Individual Education Plan (IEP) goals and objectives.
Encourage student independence while following the classroom schedule and implementing educational programs.
Foster a stimulating, accepting, and safe learning environment for all students.
