This position is responsible for assisting in educational settings by working with the class, small groups or individual students to help them take full advantage of the instruction program administrators. The role involves coordinating library activities with district curriculum programs, submitting periodic reports, maintaining statistics, supervising inventory, instructing students and staff in the use of equipment and resources, maintaining library equipment, conferring with staff, and working closely with the building principal to interpret goals and make recommendations for the library's operation. Additionally, the paraprofessional discusses assigned duties with teachers, presents subject matter under teacher guidance, assists students with mastering skills, supervises students in various school areas, serves as a resource person for student evaluations, distributes teaching materials, enforces administration policies, completes reports, teaches socially acceptable behavior, and works with students with multiple disabilities, including assisting with self-care and hygiene. The role may involve handling resistive students and serving as a substitute teacher's primary resource. Maintaining ethical behavior and confidentiality is expected, along with assisting the classroom teacher in maintaining a professional environment and performing other assigned duties.
