About The Position

Ampersand Therapy is seeking Special Education Float Paraprofessionals to cover call-outs throughout the district in the greater Anoka, Minnesota area during the 2026–2027 school year. Paraprofessionals work in special education classrooms with students who have behavioral needs and may provide toileting support. The position covers locations in Champlin, Coon Rapids, Blaine, Anoka, and Andover. Employees are guaranteed 30 hours during weeks when school is in session Monday through Friday; if a shift is available and an employee does not accept it, those hours are deducted from the guaranteed hours. Pay is $18–$20 per hour. The role is W-2 employment with liability insurance included. Benefits apply to employees at 0.8 FTE or above after a short waiting period.

Requirements

• An associate degree or equivalent, or two years of post-secondary education and at least 60 completed college credits; alternatively, a qualifying paraprofessional credential is accepted.
• A paraprofessional credential through the Minnesota Department of Education, such as a passing score on the ParaPro or ParaEducator Assessments or credentialing on the PELSB rubric, is accepted as an alternative qualification.
• Pass a background check and drug screening.
