About The Position

AACA is a Nonpublic School serving students ages 5 to 22 with severe behavioral and developmental needs. Its mission is to provide individualized instruction and therapeutic support to help each student reach their fullest potential in a structured, compassionate environment. The Paraprofessional supports students with academic, social, and daily living skills, assists with personal care, uses approved behavior support techniques, and helps implement individualized plans. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:45 AM to 3:15 PM, for 30 hours per week, which the employer considers full-time.

Requirements

• Be able to remain calm and follow through during challenging situations.
• Communicate well with staff and students.
• Be physically able to assist with personal care and behavioral interventions.
• Have no physical restrictions and be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Be available Monday through Friday, 8:45 AM to 3:15 PM.

Responsibilities

• Support students with academic, social, and daily living skills.
• Assist with toileting, hygiene, and feeding needs.
• Help manage and de-escalate aggressive physical behaviors using approved techniques.
• Use Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies and follow individualized behavior plans.
• Follow classroom management plans and behavior support strategies.
• Collect data on student progress and behaviors.
• Remain consistent and patient and work as a team player in a fast-paced, supportive environment.
