The essential role of the Pre-Kindergarten Paraeducator is to assist the teacher with instruction responsibilities. This role involves interacting with and supporting children throughout the day, assisting the teacher in implementing daily routines, assessing student progress, and participating in curriculum planning. The paraprofessional will also instruct students on the use of classroom materials, assist with classroom management and problem-solving skills, and help prepare materials for activities. Additionally, the role includes participating in school visits, assisting with registration and screening, attending staff development, and maintaining a safe and clean learning environment. The paraprofessional will work with individual, small, and large groups of students, assist them in following instructions, and provide instructional leadership when working with a substitute teacher. They are also responsible for notifying the principal of absences and maintaining CPR certification. All other duties assigned by the principal and Early Childhood Coordinator are also part of the role.
