About The Position

The Kindergarten Paraprofessional assists with student learning and individual student needs under the direction of professional staff, including teachers and specialists. The role involves actively participating in learning experiences, interacting with children at their level, and performing routine classroom management and maintenance duties. The position works during the school year, August through May when students are in session, for 185 duty days over a 10-month schedule. Work hours are 7.0 hours per day, Monday through Friday. The starting rate is $19.10 per hour, plus benefits. The position reports to the Building Principal.

Requirements

An associate's degree, or completion of 48 semester hours or 72 quarter hours at an institution of higher learning, or demonstrated proficiency in assisting with instruction in reading, writing, and mathematics through a state- or locally approved competency test.
Evidence of good mental and physical health.
Dependable, with a good work attendance record.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
