About The Position

Assists with student instruction in designated subject areas, including reading, writing, math, science, and social studies, and provides care and discipline of Kindergarten students as directed by the classroom teacher. The role supports classroom instruction and activities, helps reinforce learning, supervises students, and assists with their basic needs. Applications should be submitted by October 27, 2026, for full consideration. Applicants must live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado while employed by Denver Public Schools.

Responsibilities

Prepare and set up educational materials.
Present subject matter to students under teachers’ direction and guidance, including through computer-based instruction, discussions, or supervised role-playing.
Assist individuals and small student groups and reinforce learning concepts presented by teachers.
Assist with field trips, parent meetings (including child care), and other classroom activities.
Assist with student performance evaluation and planning, and provide feedback to students and teachers.
Communicate and coordinate with educational staff, students, and parents about routine education issues.
Supervise students at an assigned site and reinforce positive student behaviors and student-related administrative policies and rules.
Discuss and coordinate instructional efforts with teachers and educational staff.
Assist children with basic needs, such as dressing and personal hygiene.
Provide care and discipline to Kindergarten students as directed by the classroom teacher.
