About The Position

Allegiance Mobile Health is seeking a skilled and experienced Paramedic to provide advanced life support in emergency and non-emergency settings. The Paramedic leads patient assessments, performs advanced interventions, administers medications, interprets EKGs, and ensures safe transport to healthcare facilities. The role requires clinical expertise, leadership, and composure in high-stress environments. The position responds to emergency and non-emergency calls, drives emergency vehicles, communicates with dispatch and other response organizations, and helps keep vehicles and equipment clean, supplied, and ready. It provides patient care under Medical Director authorization and protocols, completes required patient and billing documentation, and interacts professionally with patients, healthcare partners, and outside agencies. The work may involve physically and psychologically taxing conditions, exposure to hazards, and strenuous patient handling. Employees must pass a departmental skills evaluation and complete the NEOP process before staffing a truck.

Requirements

High school graduate or GED.
Certified as a paramedic in the State of Texas.
CPR certification.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
For 911 areas, Pre-Hospital Life Support (PHTLS) or International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) certification.
Communicate effectively and read, write, and interpret instructions in English.
Valid Texas driver's license and insurable driving status.
Ability to lift, carry, balance, and push up to 125 pounds, or 250 pounds with assistance.
Ability to bend from the waist and touch toes, squat with legs parallel to the ground, and kneel with both knees on the ground; repetitive lifting, squatting, stooping, and kneeling are required.
Ability to climb 20 sets of stairs without rest within 60 seconds.
Fine manual dexterity to perform clinical skills such as starting IVs and intubating.
Correctable vision adequate to read street signs, see in low light, and read small print.
Good judgment and composure in high-stress situations; ability to maintain a positive attitude in adversity and demonstrate interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills.
Ability to function under extreme fatigue, little or no rest, extreme temperatures, and inclement weather.
Ability to complete the departmental skills evaluation and NEOP process before staffing a truck.

Responsibilities

Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls and drive emergency vehicles in varied road and weather conditions, including dense traffic and rural off-road settings.
Use map books and written or verbal directions to respond efficiently and safely.
Follow departmental, local, and state driving laws, policies, and procedures.
Use communication equipment and communicate appropriately with dispatchers, EMS crews, first responders, and other organizations.
Maintain vehicles and equipment in a clean, ready state; complete daily checks and assist with restocking and decontamination.
Report discrepancies with vehicles, supplies, or equipment in writing immediately.
Provide direct patient care under Medical Director authorization and protocols, demonstrating clinical competency.
Assess patients, perform advanced interventions, administer medications, interpret EKGs, and ensure safe transport to healthcare facilities.
Lift, carry, transport, and extricate patients in varied settings, sometimes without assistance.
Interact with police departments, fire departments, and first responder organizations.
Provide satisfactory customer service and maintain professionalism in all contacts.
Complete patient care reports, billing information, and related documentation accurately and promptly.
Work in physically and psychologically taxing conditions, including inclement weather, temperature extremes, hazardous environments, loud noises, and high-stress situations.
Pass the departmental skills evaluation and complete the NEOP process before staffing a truck.
Adhere to company policies and procedures; perform other assigned duties, including housekeeping and special projects.
