About The Position

The Paramedic works under the supervision of a Professional Registered Nurse and/or Physician. The role facilitates age-appropriate, culturally and ethnically sensitive care; maintains a safe environment; educates patients and families; collects information; communicates effectively; and uses technology. The Paramedic participates in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of health care services and tasks. The Paramedic Nurse Extender role also includes patient advocacy, teaching, performance improvement, and oversight of unlicensed personnel.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required upon hire.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required; paramedics new to the specialty must complete applicable certifications within 180 days of the start date.
• Current certification as a Paramedic in the State of Georgia required upon hire.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience as a Paramedic preferred.
• Current certification as a Paramedic in the National Registry preferred.
