About The Position

Via Christi associates are eligible for tuition discounts and priority placement in select healthcare programs through our academic partnership with Wichita State University. How you'll make an impact in this role Provide advanced life support for critically ill or injured patients at the scene and during transport as part of the transport team. Identify, intervene, and stabilize ill or injured patients during transport in collaboration with the transport physician and/or Registered Nurse, initiating interventions based on team protocols. Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition and treatment, including contacting receiving medical personnel to report patient observations and follow directives.1 Inspect, maintain, and care for equipment to ensure the safety of the transport team, patients, and the public. May be required to drive an ambulance to transport patients and/or supplies.

Requirements

  • Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date OR job transfer date required. American Heart Association OR American Red Cross accepted.
  • Paramedic credentialed from the Kansas Board of Emergency Medical Services (KSBEMS) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Drivers License obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transferdate required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate'sdegree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of paramedic experience with a 911 service
  • Ability to work rotating day and night shifts (6:30 AM - 7:00 PM and 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM)
