About The Position

AMR is hiring a part-time Paramedic in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to provide compassionate, high-quality service and advanced patient care. The role involves responding to 911 calls, assessing situations, providing care using progressive Paramedic protocols and medical equipment, and collaborating with patients, loved ones, colleagues, and other health and public safety personnel. The Paramedic may lead the team and manage the scene and unit as needed, drive the ambulance on 911 responses, and participate in community programs to support AMR’s image and community relations. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• State Paramedic License.
• State Driver’s License.
• BLS, ACLS, and NREMT-Paramedic.
• Driving record compliant with company policy.
• Pass the Physical Agility Test.
• Some work experience; healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess each call situation and determine the best course of action while following progressive Paramedic protocols.
• Use Paramedic skills, medical equipment, and procedures—including a defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen and suction devices, and intravenous fluids—to provide advanced medical care.
• Communicate with patients and their loved ones, providing information and assurance about the care being given.
• Act as Paramedic team leader and take responsibility for scene and unit management as needed.
• Drive the ambulance on 911 responses.
• Work collaboratively and professionally with allied health and public safety personnel and fellow Paramedics.
• Participate in community programs to maintain AMR’s image and establish strong community relations.
