About The Position

Via Christi Hospital St. Francis is seeking a full-time Paramedic to join their Emergency Department team. This role involves providing basic and advanced life support, intervening and stabilizing ill or injured patients under physician/RN direction, and implementing transport team protocols. The position also includes monitoring and communicating patient condition, providing patient/family education, and maintaining equipment for safety. Associates are eligible for tuition discounts and priority placement in select healthcare programs through an academic partnership with Wichita State University.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date OR job transfer date required. American Heart Association OR American Red Cross accepted.
Paramedic credentialed from the Kansas Board of Emergency Medical Services (KSBEMS) required.
High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate'sdegree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Nice To Haves

Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association OR American Red Cross accepted.
Drivers License credentialed from the Kansas Department of Motor Vehicles preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide basic and advanced life support treatment, care and evaluation of patients.
Identify, intervene, and stabilize the ill or injured patient under the direction and in collaboration with a physician and/or Registered Nurse.
Initiate and implement interventions based on transport team protocols.
Monitor, record and communicate patient condition and treatment, as appropriate.
Provide population specific education to the patient and family about the patient's illness and therapeutic interventions.
Inspect, maintain and care for equipment to ensure safety of the transport team, patients and public.
