This position involves providing consistent, high-quality prehospital care as outlined by the SEMSA Standard of Care, Protocols, and accepted local and national treatment doctrines. The role requires an exemplary, safe, and professional demeanor at all times, acting as a catalyst for professionalism, integrity, confidentiality, and competency with patients, their families, the public, other agencies, coworkers, and SEMSA management. A dedication to self-improvement and lifelong learning is essential, including maintaining currency of all required certifications and licenses, and improving EMS leadership skills through reading, classes, meetings, and seminars. The position is accountable for providing feedback to management for improvements, maintaining timely, legible, and accurate recordkeeping, and serving as an educator for the public, students, and coworkers. Ultimately, the role is responsible for all aspects of patient care from initial contact until transfer to a higher level of care. Willingness to work overtime as necessary and other duties as assigned are also part of the role. Employees are expected to utilize company computer systems, including email, for communication and information dissemination.
