Employment offers and start dates are subject to contract approval and may be modified or rescinded based on contract outcomes. WHAT YOU'LL DO As a Paramedic, you will provide advanced emergency medical care, standby coverage, and operational support in fast-paced training and operational environments. This role supports the safety and readiness of federal training missions by responding to medical emergencies, delivering Advanced Life Support (ALS) care, supporting emergency response efforts, and maintaining operational readiness in complex training settings.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a paramedic-level provider.
  • Current Virginia Paramedic certification, valid and current.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC).
  • Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
  • Current Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) certification.
  • Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC) Level 2 certification or equivalent approved course.
  • NIMS 100, 200, 700, and 800 certifications.
  • Valid, unrestricted U.S. driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle record (MVR) consistent with company policy.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain HSPD-12 badge/access credentials for federal facility access.
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check and drug screening.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience supporting standby EMS coverage for training operations, ranges, or specialized environments.
  • Previous experience supporting federal, government, military, law enforcement, or training environments.
  • Previous experience working in high-tempo, mission-critical, or multi-agency response environments.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver Advanced Life Support (ALS) care in accordance with Virginia EMS protocols and within the scope of Paramedic certification.
  • Assess, treat, and provide continuing emergency care to ill or injured patients, including advanced patient assessment, cardiac monitoring, airway management, medication administration, trauma care, and other approved ALS interventions.
  • Respond to medical emergencies and provide emergency standby support during training and operational activities.
  • Conduct daily readiness inspections of ambulances, medical equipment, emergency response gear, medications, and supplies to ensure operational preparedness.
  • Operate ambulances and emergency response vehicles safely in emergency and non-emergency situations across training environments and public roadways.
  • Coordinate effectively with EMS, fire, and emergency response personnel to deliver safe, high-quality patient care and emergency scene support.
  • Support emergency evacuations, including assisting with patient movement and landing zone coordination when needed.
  • Complete accurate, thorough patient care reports, run sheets, medication documentation, and required operational records.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with clients, coworkers, and over radio systems in high-tempo environments.
  • Maintain all required certifications, competencies, continuing education, and ongoing training requirements for the role.
