About The Position

The University of Iowa Health Care is seeking a 60% Paramedic (24 hours per week) to work in their Urgent Care Clinics. These clinics aim to provide care that saves patients a trip to the emergency room. Urgent Care Paramedics are responsible for assessing a wide variety of patients from newborn to geriatric, ensuring patient care standards are met, and providing access to additional care options not typically found in a traditional walk-in clinic, such as X-rays, IV fluids, and stitches. This position operates in a dynamic and fast-paced environment with opportunities for learning and growth, utilizing a multidisciplinary approach to patient care that encourages teamwork among various disciplinary teams for comprehensive patient care. The clinics are open evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
