About The Position

Serious Medicine is what we do. Being extraordinary is who we are. Every colleague plays a key role in upholding this promise to our patients and their families. Nebraska Medicine Paramedics function as an interdisciplinary team to serve acute, emergent and critical care patient populations. As EMS professionals in a teaching hospital, we exemplify the creative application of the paramedic role at the bedside and continue to expand the paramedic scope in the hospital setting. Since establishing our role in 2019, Paramedics at Nebraska Medicine have played a key part in expediting urgent processes and delivering efficient, high-level care for our patients. The Paramedic role in the inpatient “STEMI Protocol” has resulted in response time reduction to achieve rapid reperfusion for patients experiencing cardiac emergencies. Nebraska Medicine Paramedics deliver care within the State of Nebraska Scope of Practice, consistent with state certification level, and in alignment with hospital policies and procedures set by EMS Medical Direction.
