About The Position

The Paramedic provides clinical services by delivering advanced emergency medical assessment, treatment, and transport for patients in prehospital and interfacility settings. This role functions as a lead clinician on the EMS unit, performing advanced life support interventions within the paramedic scope of practice and in accordance with Trinity Health policies, established EMS protocols, and regulatory standards. Working closely with EMT partners, dispatch, emergency department staff, and other healthcare professionals, the Paramedic supports coordinated, timely patient care across the continuum. This position operates within a collaborative, high-reliability team environment focused on safety, clinical excellence, and effective communication in dynamic emergency situations.

Requirements

• North Dakota Paramedic registration submitted to North Dakota Department of Health Division of Emergency Medical Systems (DEMS) within 30 days of hire.
• Must be National Registry of Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT) certified paramedic at time of hire
• Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required at time of hire
• Valid Driver’s License
• Must be able to be insured to operate a motor vehicle
• ICS 100, 200, 700 and 800 within 30 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Pre Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) or Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) preferred
• High school diploma or GED strongly preferred

• Knowledgeable of current trends, developments, and concepts in prehospital care
• Available for on call duty as scheduled or requested

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced life support (ALS) assessment, treatment, and transport in prehospital and interfacility settings within paramedic scope of practice and EMS protocols.
• Lead the EMS crew in delivering patient care, making clinical decisions, and coordinating on scene activities.
• Administer medications, perform advanced airway management, and use cardiac and monitoring equipment as indicated.
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely in required EMS and hospital systems.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, first responders, and receiving facility staff; provide concise and accurate handoffs.
• Participate in training, skills maintenance, and quality improvement initiatives; support equipment and vehicle readiness.
