About The Position

AMR is hiring full-time or part-time Paramedics to provide compassionate, high-quality service and advanced patient care. The role involves responding to emergency calls, assessing situations, delivering advanced medical care, and collaborating with patients, loved ones, healthcare personnel, public safety personnel, and fellow Paramedics. Paramedics may lead the team and manage the scene and unit as needed, and drive the ambulance on 911 responses. The starting rate is $28.00 per hour, based on experience; the stated pay range is $28.00–$32.25 per hour.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• State Paramedic License.
• State Driver’s License.
• BLS certification.
• ACLS certification.
• NREMT-Paramedic certification.
• Driving record compliant with company policy.
• Pass the Physical Agility Test.
• Some work experience, preferably in healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Assess each call situation and determine the best course of action using progressive Paramedic protocols.
• Use Paramedic skills and medical equipment and procedures—including a defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen and suction devices, and intravenous fluids—to provide advanced medical care.
• Communicate with patients and their loved ones to provide information and reassurance about the care being given.
• Act as Paramedic team leader and take responsibility for scene and unit management as needed.
• Drive the ambulance on 911 responses.
• Work collaboratively and professionally with allied health and public safety personnel and fellow Paramedics.
• Participate in community programs to maintain AMR’s image and establish strong community relations.
