The Paramedic functions as an EMS Department team member, assisting the registered nurse (RN and physician with basic patient care, as well as, Advanced Cardiac Life Support care. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Current Paramedic License to practice as a Paramedic in the State of Indiana
- Valid Driver's License required
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Certified Paramedic Certifications/Licensures required
- Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC) required within one year of hire
- Demonstrates accountability for own actions with an openness to change and learn
- Demonstrates customer service skills to provide exceptional patient and family experience
- Takes initiative to help others
- Computer skills for documentation and work-related purposes are required
Nice To Haves
- One (1) year of experience working as a Paramedic, EMT, or ED Technician is preferred
- If not currently certified in Indiana, out-of-state paramedics must have valid registration, and pass practical and written exams within 60 days of hire to be certified in Indiana
Responsibilities
- Assisting the registered nurse (RN) and physician with basic patient care.
- Providing Advanced Cardiac Life Support care.
