About The Position

Provides initial emergency measures and continuum of care for neonatal, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients within the Paramedic’s level of training. Works in the pre-hospital environment at the Paramedic level established by state guidelines. In the hospital setting, works under the direct supervision of a registered nurse or physician, as credentialed by the hospital Medical Executive Professional Committee. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Hold a current driver’s license with an acceptable driving record under Ambulance Service Fleet Safety Policies.
• Complete EVOC or EMD coursework as required by the operating state.
• Obtain BLS certification within 14 days of hire.
• Hold ACLS and PARAMED certifications.

Nice To Haves

• Be certified in Mississippi and licensed in Tennessee.
• Obtain PALS or PEEP within one year of hire.
• NALS and PHTLS.

Responsibilities

• Perform as a Paramedic for Ambulance Service and the Emergency Department.
• Complete Ambulance Service forms in accordance with EMS and hospital policies and procedures.
• Maintain ambulances and equipment.
• Participate in the EMS Performance Improvement Process.
• Provide patient-focused care.
• Participate in activities designed to improve health care delivery.
• Complete assigned goals.
