About The Position

AMR is hiring full-time Paramedics to provide compassionate, high-quality service and advanced patient care. Paramedics assess emergency calls, determine appropriate care using progressive Paramedic protocols, and use medical equipment and procedures to deliver advanced care. They may lead the Paramedic team, manage the scene and unit, and drive the ambulance on 911 responses. The role also involves communicating with patients and loved ones, collaborating professionally with allied health and public safety personnel, and participating in community programs to support AMR’s image and community relations. The stated hourly pay range is $35.30–$50.85, and the rate applies to a 12-hour shift.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• California State Paramedic License.
• California State Driver’s License.
• California Ambulance Driver’s License.
• Medical Examiner’s Certificate.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS or PEPP, and BTLS or PHTLS certifications.
• IS100, IS200, IS700, and IS800 FEMA certificates.
• Driving record compliant with company policy.
• Pass a Physical Agility Test (PAT) if given a contingent offer.
• Some work experience; healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess each call situation and determine the best course of action using progressive Paramedic protocols.
• Use Paramedic skills, medical equipment, and procedures—including a defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen and suction devices, and intravenous fluids—to provide advanced medical care.
• Communicate with patients and loved ones, providing information and assurance about their care.
• Act as Paramedic team leader and take responsibility for scene and unit management as needed.
• Drive the ambulance on 911 responses.
• Work collaboratively and professionally with allied health and public safety personnel and fellow Paramedics.
• Participate in community programs to maintain AMR’s image and establish strong community relations.
