About The Position

Provide advanced life support for critically ill/injured patients at the scene and during transport as part of the transport team. Identify, intervene, and stabilize the ill or injured patient during interfacility and intrafacility as part of the transport team in collaboration with the transport physician and/or Registered Nurse. Initiate and implement interventions based on transport team protocols. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition and treatment, as appropriate. Contact receiving medical personnel, report observations and follow directives. Inspect, maintain and care for equipment to ensure safety of the transport team, patients and public. May be required to drive an ambulance to transport patients and/or supplies.

Requirements

  • Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Paramedic credentialed from the Indiana Department of Homeland Security obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
  • Three years of full time experience in Emergency Medical Services as a Paramedic.

Nice To Haves

  • Drivers License.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Prehospital Trauma Life Support or International Trauma Life support obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
